THIS RIDE IS FOR YOU!
SUNDAY, JUNE 10, 2018 9AM-1PM
Elliot’s Ride for Everyone is an invitation to EVERYONE, of every age and every level of bicycle experience, to come out and ride and experience the joy of biking along the picturesque ocean coastline while celebrating the importance of safe road sharing.
This year, riders will be able to choose between routes of 6, 10 and 22 miles. Bike Newport marshals will support all rides and the Newport Police will provide escort along the 6-mile route to keep the ride rolling safely and smoothly.
Elliot’s Ride for Everyone is the day for everyone to claim a safe place on the road and to enjoy the beauty of Newport together, outside, in an active, healthy, celebration of safe roads and wellness.
We want to be part of ensuring that every person, every resident, every visitor, has the opportunity to enjoy Newport’s natural and historic beauty as their own in a fun, healthy, accessible, and life-enhancing way. We are so happy to be part of Elliot’s Ride in its inaugural year.

Kids’ Tour de Fort
Sponsored by the RIDOT Highway Safety Department
While the 6-, 10- and 22-mile routes will explore the Ocean Loop and beyond, the kids Tour de Fort will be a special car-free loop inside Fort Adams. Each lap of the Fort is one-third of a mile – bring your kids and see how many laps they can rack up! Bike Newport’s team of instructors and volunteers will help kids and their grown-ups with bike checkups, helmet fitting, on-bike skills and riding fun. There will also be plenty of refreshments, music, yoga and other activities.
This event brings two key ingredients – health and safety – together for community and family happiness and well-being. We look forward to seeing Elliott’s Ride grow until everyone who wants to be on a bike, in a beautiful place, feeling great, is participating.

Meet the Artist
Tristan Morris is a fifth grader at Thompson Middle School in Newport and a rock-star bike-happy artist. Tristan drew an energetic and awesome picture for Bike Newport – with people on bicycles flying through the air and over a train with crazy happy and sometimes terrified expressions. Tristan’s drawing was the inspiration for the Elliot’s Ride graphic created by Newport graphic designer, Steve Sabo. We asked Tristan about those three flying bicylists, and he told us: “They’re thinking ‘WHOAH!! I’m flying so high!!’, ‘WHOAH!! I’m going to win this!!”’ and ‘WHOAH!! They’re gaining on me!!”
Whoah, Tristan – you are amazing – thanks for sharing your art with us!
