Elliot’s Ride for Everyone is a day for CAR-FREE riding in Newport’s most beautiful places – through the salt marsh and along the ocean. Nearly three miles to explore biking walking, meandering and rolling. It’s the day for EVERYONE, every age, every skill, every interest, to be outside together for two glorious hours without cars. Bring your friends, family and neighbors. You can park at Rogers High School and begin your adventure along Hazard Road.
Come out and enjoy Newport’s scenic ocean coastline – this is the day to celebrate the joy of bike riding together!

Our Dad was an amazing individual – a devoted husband, loving father and doting Papa who treasured family above all else. During his 40-years as a community dentist, Dad was known as a gentle individual, loved by patients and staff. In retirement, he loved to lead historic tours of Newport, and to stay fit through a healthy active lifestyle. Dad loved to bicycle. He died tragically while he was riding the roads he loved adjacent to the beaches he loved – a road now graced with a much safer dedicated bike lane.
We know there is promise of a safer cycling experience for future riders. We want to see more progress here in Newport and everywhere. Our dad would love everything about Elliot’s Ride. He would love seeing the whole community out enjoying Newport from the seat of a bicycle.
We thank you for joining our call for more, better, and safer cycling in his honor and memory.
With love,
Adam Kaminitz, Ilicia Kaminitz Strasser, Jon Strasser, Coco Lin
